TO THE CHILD

To the child
Who met death
On the path to life,
I love you

To the child
Who found life
Yet found no love,
I love you

To the child
Who found life
And found love too,
I love you

To the child
Who knows no love
But gives bread to a stranger,
I love you

To the child
Who labors from dawn till dusk
To feed his world,
I love you

To the child
Whose soul is seared
And body scarred with the rod,
I love you

To the child
Who cries herself to sleep

On the hem of defilement,

I love you

To the child
Who sings in the alley

Because he has everything,

I love you

To the child
Who can bear it no more

And prays to God her soul to take,

I love you

To the child

Who is thrown like a burden

From a foster shed to another,
I love you

To the child

Whose clothes are rags

And yet knows happiness,

I love you

To the child
Who is dressed in fine purple and linen

And knows no happiness,

I love you

To the child

Born or unborn,

Happy or sad,

I love you

To my nephews and niece
Ebube, Dubem, Dera and Amanda,
I love you beyond words can describe
You light up my world

To my unborn children

I pray to God for the grace

To be the best motherbecause

I love you.
This poem is dedicated to my nephews and niece, and to every child, born or unborn, bond or free, happy or sad, rich or poor - Jesus loves you

Tyler Perry's Acrimony - a review.

So a couple of days back, I took myself on a movie date as usual and I went to see Tyler Perry’s Acrimony, starring Taraji P. Henson and Lyriq Bent. The movie, according to Henson, was shot within 8 days and her part was shot within 5 days. This probably explains some of the loopholes in the movie, cos honestly speaking it hardly hit the mark. Yeah, I said it. It was just another of Tyler Perry’s regular recipe - a black woman who has been a

The Story of a Young Nigerian Bride

There’s a Yoruba adage that says, “Gbogbo alangba danu bole am'eyi ti inu run,”   which means  in English  “all lizards lie flat on their stomach and it is difficult to determine which has a stomach ache.” In essence,  the adage  means  “everyone looks the same on the outside but  everyone  has problems that are invisible to outsiders. ” The same  can be said of  marriages  –  every marriage looks glamorous on the outside, but every marriage has its problem ,  for some it’s DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

For the sweet love of perfumes!

I'm a perfume-whore and  this is my confession: I believe perfumes are God’s gifts to man. They are sweet smelling savors that can literally make you feel sexier and closer to heaven. I always say smelling good is good business, and
